Understanding the importance of sensors, Vayyar was able to design sensors for our home purposes also. They bought an 3D imaging technology, that could see through any solid object or liquid and show what is inside.

Sensor that could see through walls

It’s enhanced capability to sense motion, speed and number of people in large area has made it very unique. It works like a CCTV camera that detect and can also alert you. Its ability to detect a person’s motion has proved best for families including elderly people. The technology of detecting the availability of any person, was first used in military purposes to detect terrorist. This feature has also been included in Vayyar’s 3D imaging system that could notify you about any person approaching near your house. The sensor has also been fitted into a phone attachment which allows the user to see what is behind the walls using an app.

Origin

This technology was first developed in 2011 to see through skin tissues and as an alternative screening device to detect breast cancer. This large radar imaging system was shorten and made precise for its use at home also.

The company who brought this project, Vayyar, was able to precise the product into single to make smarter homes.

This sensor has many other features as below:

• It can detect very subtle movements and the direction they are coming from.
• It can detect your breathing also. So if anyone stops breathing, it will alert you.
• The technology can also be used as an alert system if a person falls and is not able to get up or has stopped breathing.

• The ability to sense through walls can prevent accident drilling through pipes and cables.
