BSNL Halves Unlimited Call Rates For Landline Users To Rs. 49 Per Month For New Subscribers

BSNL -The state run telecom operator has halved the monthly rental for unlimited calling from landline to any network to Rs. 49 on Sundays and night hours. BSNL had already lowered the cost to Rs. 99 and now they have just brought it to very half. BSNL is the only telecom operator in the country who is providing such a low cost landline voice plan.

The JIO Effect

From the coming of the unlimited offers by Reliance Jio, every other telecom service provider was in trouble and stress as every citizen were running behind Jio. However, Jio has limited their free services but still its effect persist and still provides a wholesome of maximum services. Where people run after free services, it was obvious that it will attract people. Every second person now owns a Jio sim and has kept every other sim aside.

BSNL’s Plans to Counter Jio

BSNL landline users had already gone down to only few customers, because of which they had made night calls free long back. But after Jio came into work, its usage decreased more drastically. This may have caused them much off losses. It is the effect of Reliance Jio, BSNL has cut their prices to half.

Few Days before BSNL had also cut the internet rates to about more than half, bringing the costs down to Rs. 36 per GB data. Many said that this was to counter threat from Reliance Jio. This offer was again the lowest in the country. Due to the Jio effect other operators have also cut their rates.

News also reported that BSNL’s investments outlay lowered from Rs 7,317 crore to 4,300 crore in 2017-2018. And their expenditure estimate lowered to 4,800 Cr in 2016-17. However, the aim of the outlay was to provide broadband services among rural areas in the country.

BSNL stated that they launched this cost effective and affordable landline voice plan name “EXPERIENCE LL 49” to attract more new customers to experience wireless services.

The new BSNL offer provides the following services:

• The offer applies only to new subscriber.
• Customers can make unlimited calls to any network every Sunday and during night hours(9 pm to 7 am).
• Fixed monthly charge of Rs. 49 is applicable for the first six months. After this, customer will be charged as per general plan of the respective area.
