Wayanad
Wayanad is a district in the north-east Kerala state. The district was formed on 1 November 1980. Wayanad is the 12th district of Kerala. Headquarter of Wayanad is Kalpetta. The neighboring districts are Kozhikode and Kannur. The district has 3 municipal towns Kalpetta, Mananthavady and Sulthan Bathery.

EDAKKAL CAVES

Edakkal caves is one of the most tourist visitors place in wayanad. The name Edakkal literally means ‘a stone in between’.It situates 25 km away from Kalpetta. These caves are located 1,200m above the sea level on Ambukutty mala. One of the myth behind about the Edakkal cave is, it is formed with the arrows fired by Lava and Kusha, the sons of Lord Sri Rama.

POOKODE LAKE

The beautiful fresh water lake in Wayanad. It is 15 km away from Kalpetta. This lake is a natural fresh water lake nestling amid evergreen forests and mountain slopes at an altitude of 770 meters above sea level. The river Kabani originates from Pookode lake. This is one of the most tourist destinations in Wayanad. The fresh water lake has the shape of Indian map. Pookode lake is surrounded by forest and you can see the greenish anywhere. Every nature lovers absolutely love this lake.

KURUVA ISLAND

Kuruva Island or Kuruva Dweep is a island situated in Wayanad district. This island is a protected river delta and it locates in the middle of Kabani river. Kuruva island is densely populated with rich fauna and flora. In the deep side of this Island, you can see many attractive things like bridges are made of bamboo trees and other rare species of flowers and trees. MUTHANGA WILD LIFE SANCTUARY

The Wayanad wild life sanctuary also known as Muthanga wild life sanctuary. It is located around 16 km away from Sulthan Bathery. This sanctuary connects Bandipur parks in Karnataka and Madumalai in Tamil Nadu. It is established in the year 1973 and it is a rain forest. The excited sight of inside the sanctuary is wild animals like tigers, panthers, elephant, jungle cats and dogs etc..

CHEMBRA PEAK

Chembra peak is the highest peak in Wayanad. If you are an adventurer, you must go there. It situates 8 km away from south Kalpetta, near to the town of Meppady. The peak is visible from almost all parts of Wayanad. The most amazing thing in the chembra peek is a heart shaped lake, water in the lake is never dried up.
